Since fall 2010, a specialized Master's program in the field of Chemical and Molecular Sciences has been offered. This degree program is open to students with a Bachelor's degree in a natural science subject. The detailed admission requirements can be found in the study regulations.
This specialized program can be completed as a fast-track program. program. The fast-track programs are designed for students with very good Bachelor's degrees who wish to pursue an academic career. The Master's thesis project is counted as the beginning of the PhD project.

The focus of this Master's program is therefore also on practical research. Graduates are actively involved in research right from the start and can work on their own projects. For this they need
an academic supervisor.
In addition to the practical work, students attend compulsory modules (9 ECTS), compulsory elective modules (9 ECTS) and elective modules (12 ECTS). 30 ECTS must be earned with lecture modules, 60 ECTS with research projects. These 60 ECTS include the Master's thesis, its presentation
presentation and the examination.
9 ECTS must be chosen from the Master's modules of the Chemistry degree program. For the 12 ECTS of elective modules, all elective modules and special lectures of the Master's degree program in Chemistry and related study programs are available. These modules are selected in consultation with the supervisor and the student advisory service.
