Krämer and moved then to the Scripps Research Institute working under the tutelage of Prof. J. Rebek Jr.. Since March 2006, Felix worked as an independent young researcher at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Zurich under the mentorship of Prof. R. Alberto. In April 2013, he received the Venia Legendi for Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry. Research in the Zelder group is focused on the development of semi-artificial metal-complexes for applications in medicinal and analytical chemistry, but also for fundamental studies.
F. Z. obtained several fellowships and prizes, most recently in 2009 the Mercator prize of the Mercator foundation Switzerland. In 2012, Felix hold a guest professorship in Boinorganic Chemistry at the University of Vienna.
