Chemical and Biological Probes

Our research, at the interface of chemistry and biology, draws from the areas of organic synthesis, physical organic chemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology to figure out the molecular mechanisms of specific biological processes.

Our current research areas include:

• Characterization and manipulation of redox homeostasis in subcellular compartments.
• Single-molecule imaging in vitro and in live cells.
• Development of dyes and labeling strategies for monitoring physiological processes in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
