The Linden Research Group

-------------------------------------

Prof. em. Dr. Anthony Linden

Department of Chemistry

Prof. Linden was the Director of the X-ray Crystallography Facility, initially in the Institute of Organic Chemistry and subsequently in the Department of Chemistry, of the University of Zurich, Switzerland from October 1989 until his retirement at the end of May 2022.

Prof. Linden's interests cover a broad range of questions in Chemical Crystallography and single-crystal X-ray diffraction is used as the main investigative tool. Topics include molecular interactions and their relationship to structural properties, aspects of hydrogen bonding and how this drives the supramolecular and structural properties of materials, and network and framework structures.

Prof. Linden is still actively involved in teaching crystallography at various schools and workshops, including as a director of the Zurich School of Crystallography.

PhD Students and Postdocs
As Prof. Linden is now retired, he no longer has an active group and is unable to host new PhD students, postdocs or academic visitors.

Permanent Academic Guest in the group
Prof. em. Hans-Beat Bürgi

Graduated PhD Students
Dr. Partha Pratim Das - now working with NanoMEGAS
Dr. Rangana Sanjeewa Warshamanage - now working at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell, UK
Dr. Jun Xu - now working at the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Tianjin University, China
